Thoughts from Coach B on Game One:
"We had a grind of a week preparing for this match. This was one we felt as though was a must win. With us having a small conference and dropping two conference matches in Florida, we really wanted to get in the win column conference wise.
I have a lot of respect for Coach Ben at SAU and their program is very lucky to have him. He has a very talented roster with two solid players in the two most important positions (Setter & Libero). We didn't play clean and didn't execute our defensive game plan but credit to our block. Our block stayed disciplined and was a big key to the team being able to pull out a big win."
Game Two: Reinhardt 3, Kentucky St. 0
Game two for the Eagles was versus Kentucky State at 4pm. This game went a lot similarly to the first one, maintaining the momentum through each set, clenching the 3-0 win versus the NCAA DII team. Rodolfo Biegelmeyer slammed the squad-high of 12 kills down (.476). Bruno Dewes led in assists with 18, while Jake Pennypacker had 11. Defensively, Alex Sanchez had of 17 digs and Dalton Fellows had 5 blocks on the match.
Thoughts from Coach B on Game Two:
"This is a very tough match for me to comment on as I was very disappointed in how our team was treated by a player on the opposing team and how the officials were treated. Character is a huge part of our culture so I was proud of our team for not getting sucked into any of that.
We were able to go deeper in this match and I thought it was a good team win. At the end of the day, we went 1-0 twice and now we are back to 0-0. We will get back to work on Monday and look to go 1-0 on Wednesday!
I want to say thank you to God for the Blessing of getting to lead this program and give Him all the Honor and Glory!"
