David Friedberg Sets New Record at Lee University Meet!
Cleveland, TN - This past weekend a few athletes from Reinhardt Track & Field competed in the Lee University Last Chance Track Meet. These remaining athletes have either qualified previously for the NAIA Nationals or are trying one last time to get the marks they need to qualify.
David Friedberg is one of these athletes and he has already qualified from an earlier throw in the track & field season, however, he just threw one of the best throws in Javelin in NAIA history. Friedberg threw 71.23 meters in the Lee University meet which puts him in the current lead in the NAIA.
Friedberg will be trying to defend his 2022 NAIA National Title in a couple of weeks and he should be able to do this with his current throws. Here are some of the highlights of his record-breaking throw:
• Best NAIA Throw of 2023 (Current Leader)
• New Reinhardt & Personal Record
• 3rd Best throw of all Time in the NAIA
• Best Throw since 2014 in the NAIA
• Just about 3 meters off the NAIA All-Time Record
Stay tuned to www.reinhardteagles.com for more information on the NAIA Track & Field Nationals. The Eagles have several athletes that will be competing which could bring home titles and place finishes as well. All eyes will be on Friedberg to see if he can better his new personal best and possibly shoot for the NAIA All-Time Javelin Record!
