Reinhardt Men Finish Third and Many Records Achieved at the AAC Championships
BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. - Reinhadrt Track and Field competed at the AAC Championships this past weekend. The Men's Team finished third overall just behind Montreat (1st) and Milligan (2nd). Several records were set for the Eagles at the tournament on both the Men's and Women's sides. The Women's Team finished 8th overall.
David Friedberg dominated in the Javelin where he was 20m better than the second and third-place finishers. He set an AAC record with his first-place throw of 65.75m. Friedberg has already qualified for the NAIA Nationals from earlier in the season where he will be competing to defend his National Championship Title from last year.
Camren Bailey was named as "Newcomer of the Year" by the AAC and he continued his great season. He was crowned champion in the 100m and finished in second place in the 200m. He was also a member of the 4x100 team which finished in third place. Reinhardt's 4x100 team was Julian McRae, Tyler Hallum, Jalen Everett, along with Bailey. The 4x100 team hit the National Standard which qualifies them for the NAIA Nationals. Bailey's time in the 200m qualified him for the NAIA Nationals as well.
Luis Morris was the AAC Champion in the Pole Vault with a height of 4.45m. He was joined on the podium by teammate Austin Wright who finished in second place.
Andrew Paolozzi had a great meet where he was crowned AAC Champion in the Hammer Throw and finished second in the shot put.
Tyler Hallum finished in first place in the 400m to win the AAC with a time of 48.02 seconds, which won him the AAC title. The time was a National Standard that qualifies him for the NAIA Nationals.
On the Women's side, Abby Cruz continues to improve in the Javelin where she set a new Reinhardt record and her new personal record with a distance of 35.91. She placed second overall in the Javelin.
Kerstyn Thomas continues to set new school records in the sprinting events. She set a new Reinhart record in the 100m with a time of 12.82 seconds.
Samantha Cramer placed second in the High Jump with a height of 1.44m.
