Eagles Building Momentum at Berry College Invitational
Mt. Berry, GA - Reinhardt Track & Field continued improving their times and distances at the Berry College Field Day Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The team has been improving ever since the start of the indoor season and it is all trying to get the athletes to perform their best once the AAC Tournament arrives. Those that reach the national standards will automatically qualify for the NAIA Nationals. So far David Friedberg and Andrew Paolozzi have reached this point and they will not be joined by Camron Bailey who set the mark this weekend in the 100m running 10.49 seconds.
Bailey has been steadily improving his times in both the 100m and 200m all season and should be a threat at the AAC Championships.
Friedberg hit his season-best distance this past weekend with a throw of 66.30m, which is just a few meters shy of his throw last May that won him the NAIA National Championship. He has been steadily moving up as well and should be throwing close to 70m once the NAIA Nationals arrive.
Paolozzi has already qualified for NAIA Nationals in the shot put and in this meet - he hit his personal best distance in the hammer throw with a distance of 51.47m. Paolozzi is definitely one that could qualify in multiple events as one of the best throwers in Reinhardt's Track and Field history.
On the women's side, Kerstyn Thomas continues to impress in the 200m where she hit another school record running 27.90 seconds. She is one of the fastest (if not the fastest) Eagles on the women's side to run for Reinhardt.
The Eagles will be competing this Friday and Saturday in the AAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held in Montreat, NC.
