Friedberg Named All-American by the USTFCCCA
NEW ORLEANS – All-America honors for the 2022 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Student-athletes earned USTFCCCA All-America honors by virtue of finishing among the top-8 of their respective individual events – including as a member of a relay – at the 2022 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships last week in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Reinhardt's own, David Friedberg, was one of these recipients as he won the NAIA National Championship for Men's Javelin. He threw a school record of 69.90 meters to win the national championship. This was also a personal best for Friedberg. Friedberg has had a wonderful Spring Outdoor Track & Field season leading the way for Eagles Track the whole way.
Friedberg was the fifth All-American winner for Reinhardt Athletics. The others winning All-American were the following:
2017 – Gordon Dudley – Javelin Throw
2018 – Qua Stocks – High Jump
2018 – Qua Stocks – Long Jump
2019 – Arius Gilstrap – 400m Hurdles
Track Athletes like Friedberg, Trisstan Weddington, and Kerion Williams have helped keep Reinhardt Track and Field heading in the right direction. Having athletes like Friedberg win National Championships and gaining All-American status should help the program to continue to grow and bring in top-level athletes.
