Week 5: AAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Trisstan Weddington of Reinhardt and Sharod Cobb of Truett McConnell are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's  Outdoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the fifth and final edition of the weekly honors for the 2022 season.

AAC Field Athlete of the Week

Trisstan Weddington - Reinhardt - Soph. - Sewannee, Ga.

• Hit the NAIA 'A' standard in the long jump with a leap of 7.55 meters, placing third at the Kennesaw State Invitational.
• Currently ranks No. 1 in the NAIA in the event.
• Set a school record in the event.
• This is his first weekly honor this season.

AAC Track Athletes of the Week

Sharod Cobb - Truett McConnell - Sr. - Waycross, Ga.

• Won the 400 hurdles at the Kennesaw State Invitational with a time of 51.85.
• Hit the NAIA 'A' standard in the event.
• Owns the second-best time in the NAIA.
• This is his third weekly award this season.
