"Solid day for everyone as we continue to improve across the board and move into positions to score big points at the conference meet," head coach Jordan Turner said. "Great to get another 10 AAC marks knocked out and many more on the cusp of hitting those marks soon. Our conference has gotten very competitive and some of these marks are really good, so to see these athletes push themselves past lifetime bests to obtain those is exciting. Great runs by the 5K group and kudos to Salvador, Taylor, Jake, Carly and Sarah T. for hitting lifetime bests today.
"Alex M. swept the discus and shot to give us big points in the throws. The 800 group all had very competitive races and they learned how to race a little better today. We've never had a solid group of four this close together, so I'm excited to see them push each other all under two minutes soon. Additionally, Nicole and Madison had good jumps in the pole vault… Excited to go head-to-head with some AAC competition this Friday."
Next up on the calendar is a trip to the Volunteer State for the Good Friday Challenge on April 2, which takes place at Oak Ridge High School, and will be hosted by Tennessee Wesleyan.
