More Records Fall at CIU Invitational
COLUMBIA, S.C. – (Results) Both outdoor track and field teams put together a strong showing at the CIU Invitational on Friday and Saturday, as the two-day event wrapped up with a combined 13 Reinhardt competitors earning Appalachian Athletic Conference qualifying marks.
"Throws, horizonal jumps and distance groups continue to have success in these early meets while knocking off the conference standards," head coach Jordan Turner said. "So, now we can turn our eyes to better training and racing a greater range of events. Proud of Carly and Javen for taking down school records on the women's side. Johnny had a great series in hammer and discus and will be pushing our entire throws group to continue to get better the rest of the year. Our 10K group (Carly, Parker and Salvador) ran great races in their first-ever 25-lapper.
"David F. really surprised me in the javelin, and he will only get better. Donte is continuing to show he will back up his indoor All-Conference performance in the long jump at the outdoor championships. We are looking forward to a quality meet at Life this Friday."
