RU Track Starts 2024 at Emory CrossPlex Showdown in Birmingham
Birmingham, AL - Reinhardt Track and Field started the 2024 calendar on the road at the Emory University CrossPlex Showdown, which is an annual meet for the Eagles. The Men's team had much success finishing at #4 as a team out of 24 teams competing on the men's side. The field had teams from all collegiate levels including NCAA DII and DIII. The Women's Team finished in 13th position out of 21 total teams.
The top performers were Andrew Paolozzi who won the Shot Put with a throw of 14.32m, Hayden Reyes who finished 2nd in the 300m and 4th in 200m, and Kenadi Aker who finished in the top 10 of the 60m and Long Jump. Aker set school records in both events and they were her personal best as well. Several athletes hit personal records and new Reinhardt records including Marquia White who threw 11/21m in the Women's Weighted Throw.
Reinhardt Track and Field has been working hard to build up its program over the past several years and bringing in top-level recruits is beginning to pay off. The Eagles have a legitimate shot at competing with perennial AAC favorites Milligan and Montreat to capture the conference title.
