School & Personal Records Broken at Samford/Life Meets

Birmingham, AL & Marietta, GA - RU Indoor Track & Field competed in their last meet of the regular season before the AAC Championships, which happens this weekend. 

The teams were split between the Samford Bulldog Open held in Birmingham, Alabama, and the 2nd Annual Life University Super Bowl Throw-Off - which took place in Marietta, Georgia. The throwers all attended the Life Throw-Off and everyone else was at the Samford Open.

The Eagles had several personal and school records broken. The team continues to break their records this season, which will move right into the outdoor season once the AAC and NAIA Indoor Championships happen.  The program continues to move in the right direction so it can start competeing with the top-level teams in the AAC like Milligan and Montreat.

Here are some of the standout performers from this past weekend's meets:

•  Natalie Klein: High Jump- 1.43m (SEASON PR)

•  Brooke Simon: 800m- 2:42.95 (PR)

•  Abbi Cruz: Women's Shot Put- 9.47m (PR & CONFERENCE STANDARD)

•  Tom Vincent: Mile- 4:27.11 (PR & SCHOOL RECORD)

•  Logan Ray: 800m- 1:57.92 (SEASON DEBUT)
