COLUMBIA, S.C. – (Men's Results | Women's Results) It was a weekend full of strong performances for both indoor track and field teams on Saturday, as the Eagles saw 20 personal records on the men's side and another half-dozen on the women's side in the Rams February Invite.
The marks set in the event hosted by Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) foe Columbia International (S.C.) helped Reinhardt move up several spots on the conference performance list – something that was much-needed coming out of this meet.
"Our throws group had a great meet with Johnny throwing the current 14th-best mark in the NAIA in the weight throw," head coach Jordan Turner said. "His mark of 17.35m is .5 inches off his PR. Andrew has been throwing exceptional as well and he's knocking on that 16-meter mark in weight. Mid-distance and distance all had great performances and folks like Robert, Alex J., Brody, David C., Parker, Chris, Jillian, Carly and Sarah T. were rewarded with personal bests in their races.
"Sprints and jumps had a good debut from guys like Marcus and Donte and will continue to be better in the coming weeks. Javen competed well in multiple events and will have her eyes set on some podium finishes in a couple events at the ACC meet in two weeks."
There's only a couple more weeks until the AAC Championships, so the final event to prepare for the postseason is the Montreat Winter Meet on Feb. 12.
