Eagles Debut 2021 Indoor Track and Field Schedule at KMS Open
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – (Results) The indoor track and field season official opened on Sunday as both the men's and women's teams headed out to Alabama to participate in the KMS Open inside the Birmingham CrossPlex.
There were no team scores on either side, but the level of competition in numerous events helped the Eagles get their feet under them when looking ahead to the rest of the calendar.
"Very excited to finally get our 2021 indoor track and field schedule started," head coach Jordan Turner said. "This is the latest we've ever started our indoor slate, and I was nervous we would even get one, so I was pleased to see where our entire team was at. We have challenges as a track program, but we have constantly and consistently shown that they will not shape the success of our team and individual performances.
"To come away with 20 individual performances that are in a top-16 position to move into the AAC meet is a very solid start. Three more weeks of training until that AAC meet will put us in a good position to solidify those marks and gain many more. We need more people to stop saying what they can do… And show up and DO it."
