2024 NAIA Men's Tennis All-America Selections Announced
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially announced the 2024 NAIA Men's Tennis All-America teams. Honorees were selected by the NAIA All-America Selection Committee. Sixteen student-athletes comprise first, second, and third teams.
Keiser (Fla.) led all schools with two, first-team selections and tied Xavier (La.) with the most total selections with four. Soufiane El Mesbahi and Shaheed Alam were the first-team selections for the Seahawks. Alex Gurmendi of Georgia Gwinnett, also a first-team selection, was named the Ward-Ballinger Outstanding Player at the national championship over the weekend for the third consecutive season.
Both Keiser and Xavier had the most honorees across the three All-America teams with four each. In addition to the aforementioned student-athletes on the first team for Keiser, Didrik Liljevist and Yassir Kilani were named to the second team. Xavier's Julius Hell was named to the first team while Jacobi Bain, VanDer Woddy, and Nereo Suarez were all third-team selections for the Gold Rush.
Reinhardt University's Luciano Fisicaro, "Luchi", was the sole member of Reinhardt Tennis to be named to the NAIA All-American list. Fisicaro has led the Eagles for the past two seasons as the #1 on the men's side. He helped the team to an 18-4 overall record and a 7-1 AAC record. The only conference loss was to eventual league champion, Tennessee Wesleyan. He helped the Eagles get up to #9 in the NAIA National Polls this past season.
Fisicaro will be coming back next year for another run to lead the Eagles again. The team has steadily improved the past three years making it to the past two NAIA National Tournaments.
Congratulations to Luchi Fisicaro on a terrific season!
