AAC Men's Tennis Awards Announced

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2023 Men's Tennis All-AAC Team and Awards on Thursday.
Oscar Gabriel Ortiz of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Player of the Year, Sabi Roi of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Freshman of the Year, and Francisco Gallardo of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Coach of the Year.
Luciano Fisicaro and Pau Pujadas of Reinhardt Tennis were both named to the AAC First Team after having great seasons for the Eagles. Fisicaro was the number one position player for the Eagles in both singles and doubles. Pujadas was a teammate of Fisicaro in doubles and played in the number two position for singles. Freshman, Federico Zeiter, was named to the All-Freshman team to represent the Eagles. As a newcomer, Zeiter was one of the top performers for the Eagles in both singles and doubles.
The awards were voted on and selected by the men's tennis coaches of the AAC.
Ten players earned a spot on the All-AAC First Team with five making the second team. There are six members of the All-Freshmen. Dozens of players made the grade to earn a spot on the All-Academic Team, while 10 were named to the Champions of Character Team.
