It's Another 7-0 Sweep for Men's and Women's Tennis
Waleska, GA - Eagles Tennis continues on their run through the AAC this season so far. They have a few tough opponents coming up, but both teams are playing great and making a statement in the AAC.
On Thursday this week, the Eagles swept Truett McConnell 7-0 on both the Men's and Women's. The Women's Team had an impressive run in doubles with each team winning 6-0. Those teams were Mia Hoeddinghaus & Pilar Becerra, Julieta Boerr & Nina Thomet, and Tayla Kruger & Elyse Standing.
For singles on the women's side, Boerr had the number one spot and won 6-0, 6-0. Thomet followed in the number two position with the same score results. Finishing out singles were Hoeddinghaus winning 6-1/6-1, Becerra winning 6-2/6-1, Tiffany LeRoux winning 6-1/6-2, and Lucia Zambrana winning 6-0/6-0 to complete the 7-0 win for the Eagles.
The Men's results were very similar as the doubles easily worked their way through almost a perfect score like the women. Number one doubles were Luciano Fisicaro and Pau Pujadas winning 6-0. Next in the number two spot was Michael Wassef and Bruno Squarcia winning 6-0 and in the third slot was the team of Nicholai Hensburg and Federico Zeiter who won 6-1.
In singles for the Men's Team, Fisicaro won 6-0/6-0 in a quick match over his opponent. He was followed by the number two man, Squarcia who won 6-1/6-0. Finishing up singles in the third through sixth spots were Harsh Kheterpal winning 6-1,6-2, Pujadas winning 6-1/6-0, Wassef winning 6-2/6-0, and Zeiter winning 6-0/6-0.
The Eagles will have the weekend off with their next match being on Tuesday versus Union, which is a make-up game from an earlier rainout. After this, the Women's Team will have a match with Brenau and then both will finish at home with a match with a very talented Tennessee Wesleyan squad. All these will be important matches for the Eagles to see where they will be in the AAC Tournament coming up in a few weeks.
