Most recently, the Eagles took down then-No 9 William Woods (Mo.), 4-1, as they handed the Owls their first doubles-point losses of the year after the Eagles took lines two and three to head to individual play ahead, 2-0. The duo of Jordi Puig Molina/Federico Gomez (6-2) grabbed the first win, and then were followed closely by Pau Pujadas/Caio Lopes (7-5).
Gomez, who was men's tennis Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Player of the Week, continued to roll on the courts with another singles triumph at No. 3, 6-1, 6-2. The visitors were able to avoid a shutout with a win on line four (7-5, 7-5), but Reinhardt was able to clinch thanks to Martin Mendoza and his 7-5, 6-4 outcome in the top spot.
The team also added a major opponent late Wednesday night, as Reinhardt will now travel to newly-No. 2 Xavier (La.) on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m.
