Milligan College, TN - Reinhardt was coming off a tough conference home loss to Truett-McConnell so they wanted to get back in the win column in the weekend matchup with Milligan. The Buffaloes made it tough on the Eagles scoring four goals in the game and keeping Reinhardt off the board the entire game.
Milligan scored one goal in the first half taking the 1-0 lead into the half. The Buffalo's goal came just one minute into play as midfielder Boikaego Mbaakanyi put one past Eagles starting keeper Allan Turcjak. Turcjak has been solid all season with several shutouts to his name, however, the past two AAC matchups have scored four against the Eagles' defense. Against Milligan, Turcjak had 7 saves on 11 shots on goal from the Buffaloes.
Captain and starting center-back for the Eagles, Ivan Patta, has been out for several games, and his absence has been noticed. His experience and leadership on the backline are missed, and his return is much anticipated.
Milligan scored in the fifty-first, fifty-sixth, and seventy-first minutes of the game.
Offensively, the Eagles had trouble getting shots on target. They were able to get five shots, but they had zero on target, making it easy for Milligan's keeper to get a shutout.
Reinhardt will need to put this game behind them quickly, as Life University will visit Ken White Field on Tuesday night for a make-up/out-of-conference game. The Eagles will be back in AAC action next Saturday on the road in Knoxville, TN, at Johnson University.
