Grayson, KY - After their last game was canceled against Montreat College due to inclement weather, the Reinhardt men's soccer team traveled and went against Kentucky Christian with fiery ambition sparking their path forward. The Eagles ultimately earned the shutout win with a final score of 5-0. This is RU's seventh shutout of the season.
Reinhardt put on a clinic on finishing and passing while visiting Kentucky. Their first goal would come after 38 minutes with the midfielder, Alexander Itov knocking in his first of the night. The next goal would come at the 54th minute with Christain Fowler making a wonderful run down the line before tucking in the ball for a good night's sleep, with the composure we've seen from the young American all season, into the back of the net.
The next two goals would carry an air of familiarity as Alexander Itov would score each back-to-back within just ten minutes of each other. His first hat-trick of the season. One of his goals was assisted by Christain Hogg, his first assist of the season. He's done a fantastic job stepping up in the absence of their injured captain, Ivan Patta.
The final goal of the match was by Luke McLaren. A tidy finish from the small midfielder with ice in his veins.
The Eagles now sit 3-1-1 record in the AAC and are 4-3-2 overall. Up next, RU will be playing in a home AAC match-up this upcoming Wednesday, October 2nd, at 5:00 pm. Reinhardt will be playing the Truett-McConnell Bears.
