Hayden Adams Named MOTM With 4-2 WIN Vs. Columbia

​Columbia, SC - The Reinhardt men's soccer team traveled to play AAC opponents, the Columbia College Koalas on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles ultimately came out successful as they walked away with the 4-2 win. The away game for the Eagles against the Koalas would be a joy-filled occasion, but like all joy, it was not without its strife.

​The Eagles entered the game after a long drive, and the effects were noticeable with the Koalas scoring after only three minutes. The goal would bring the team back to life and within five minutes, Weyman Mabuya would return the favor with a peach of an assist from Hayden Adams. 

​The Koalas weren't ready to rest just yet as they would pluck one more goal from the eucalyptus tree before the half. Not to be outdone, George Kakambe would tie the game up with his first goal of the season. Real composure in front of the goal.​

​The second half would see the Koalas defeated. After 10 minutes, Luke McClaren would provide a great assist to Hayden Adams, who looked unplayable today. A man in top form. The final nail of the coffin came near the end of the game with Eber Sosa knocking in the final dagger and ending all doubt of an Eagles win. Once again, the Eagles show their proficiency in the second half.

​Head Coach, Frankie Ruiz called Hayden Adams, "The definition of a stay quiet and do the work player." In many ways, that exemplifies the philosophy of Frankie Ruiz who continues to take his team to greater and greater heights.

The Eagles now sit with an AAC record of 2-1 and are 3-3-1 overall. The next match for RU will be another away game in South Carolina, with the Eagles facing Columbia International. This AAC match-up will be begin on Wednesday, September 18th, at 6pm ET.
