Eagles Battle Hard, but Lose Close Road Game at Bryan
Dayton, TN - The Eagles were back on the road visiting the Lions of Bryan College on Wednesday evening in their second AAC game of the 2023 season. The game was almost a repeat of what the Eagles did in the previous game with St. Andrews. Reinhardt would come away losing 0-1 after failing to put the ball in the back of the net.
Defensively, the Eagles have been doing tremendous all season keeping talented ranked teams like Life University and Dalton State University even, but the past two AAC games have not been favorable for the Eagles. The defense finally gave up the game-winning goal for Bryan in the eighty-second minute of the game. The defense led by Elijah Clark kept the game within striking distance for the Eagles, however, it was not meant to be in this AAC road matchup.
Clark had 5 saves from 6 shots on goal The Lions were able to rip 10 shots total in the game.
The Eagles' offense was able to get 14 shots at the goal against Bryan with 9 of them being on target. Unfortunately, none of the 9 on frame were not able to get past the Lions' keeper. Rafael Pais led the Eagles with 5 total shots and 3 on target.
Reinhardt will be in AAC play the rest of the way through the season now and these are the games that count and they need to win. The offense will need to see what they can do to start getting the ball in the back of the net and the wins will start coming. There is not much doubt that the Eagles have the defense to match up against any team in the conference, but the offense will have to start showing up as well if Reinhardt wants to move on to postseason play.
The Eagles will put this game behind them now and start concentrating on the home game versus Columbia College on Saturday. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Ken White where the Eagles will be looking for their first AAC win of the season.
