Reserve Eagles Soar Through Undefeated Fall Season
WALESKA, Ga. – It was a dominant season from start to finish for the Reinhardt Eagle Reserves as they finished the fall season with a perfect record of 6-0.
Their high-flying offense matched with a tenacious defense saw them outscore their opponents, 26-5, throughout the six-match period.
"It was a pleasure to coach this group of young men this season," head coach Zack Schultze said. "With all of the difficulties that came with 2020, it was really special to work with a group of guys so dedicated and so passionate. This season's success is a testament to the strength of character within every one of our players."
Leading the charge in the attack for the Eagles was freshman Andres Jorquera, who recorded back-to-back-to-back hat tricks in the first three outings of the season.
He would finish the year with a team-leading 11 goals.
Also playing a huge role in the attack for Reinhardt were midfielders Seth Stankich, Greg Morris, Dima Lynes, Gerson Montano and Sebastian Montero, who combined for nine goals on the season.
Senior forward Tevin Perry also found his first goal as a Reinhardt Eagle in the last contest of the season after some beautiful combination play in the final third.
Deserving equal credit on the success of the fall season is the Reinhardt defense. Justin Stanley, Juan Aguirre, Dimitrius Lewis and Dylan Ferguson all played massive roles in shutting down the opposition's attack game after game.
Goalkeepers Patryk Weber, Paolino de Francesco, Carlos Guerrero and Bryan Sullivan all saw playing time this season and were instrumental in limiting the goals against average to less than one goal per match.
The Reinhardt Reserves will return to action in the spring of 2021.
