Eagles Finish the Season Strong with Point Road Win; Postseason is Next
West Point, GA - Reinhardt Men's Lacrosse ends the season strong with a decisive win at AAC opponent Point University by the score of 16-3! The Eagles led from start to finish in their final regular season game of 2025. The tie puts the Eagles at the top of the conference standings tied with Keiser University and Webber University. A tie-breaker scenario is in effect and will determine the final placement of these three top teams.
From the outset, the Eagles demonstrated their superiority, with a halftime score line of 11-2 that left little doubt about the outcome. Reid McDowell was particularly outstanding, scoring 5 goals, including the game-winning goal that decisively swung the momentum in Reinhardt's favor. The scoring efforts were supported by Benjamin Shackelford and Tyrique Robinson, who each added 3 goals, showcasing the depth of talent within the team. Luke Greer followed the top scorers with two goals of his own.
The Eagles also excelled in teamwork, with multiple players contributing assists throughout the game. Benjamin Shackelford and Luke Greer each had 2 assists, further proving the collaborative spirit that underpins the team's success. In goal, Ethan Rogers played a key role in thwarting the Skyhawks' attempts to narrow the margin.
This triumph advances Reinhardt University's record to 11-1 overall and 7-1 in the conference. The three-way tie at the top with Keiser and Webber should be decided by the end of the weekend. The tie-breaker scenario will use things like head-to-head play, like opponents out of conference, like opponents in conference, goal differential, etc... as ways of determining the final placement. The Eagles will probably fall in either the second or third spot in the standings. There will be more info to come from the AAC on the tournament schedule later this weekend.
