RU Lacrosse Moves to 8-0 on the Season with a Win over Montreat
Waleska, GA - Reinhardt Men's Lacrosse is on a mission this season to take back the crown of the top team in the NAIA after being put out of the first round in the national tournament last year. In the past week, they have taken down #1 Keiser and #2 Webber to secure the top spot just past the midway point of the season. Friday night's game versus AAC opponent Montreat University was a bit of a breather for the Eagles as they started fast and put the game away in the first quarter. The final was 35 to 4 which what was to be expected of the game. The Eagles play in the toughest conference with five of the teams currently ranked in the top ten. Montreat is not one of those teams and they are just not on a level that can compete with the Eagles at this point.
Brady Hanak got the first goal in the game just past the thirteen minute mark of the first quarter. From then on in the first half, the Eagles would go on to outscore the Cavaliers 27-1 in the first half. The second quarter was the quarter that put the game way out of reach where the Eagles scored 17 goals.

The Eagles enjoyed the large 27-1 lead at the halftime break and this made room for several younger players to get involved in the game.Holden Whitefliff, Gabe Turner, and Beau Fischer all got on the board in the game scoring goals.
Liam Wright just played the first half and only had one goal scored against him. He had somewhat of a quiet day on the backside as much of the action was at the opposite end of the field. Only two shots came Wright's way in the game.
The Eagles have the rest of the week off before starting back on Saturday with Tennessee Wesleyan in Waleska, After this, the Eagles have two more games with #5 Cumberlands and Point University to end the regular season play. The Cumberlands game should be the next toughest test for the Eagles before they get ready for postseason play coming in mid-April.
