Eagles Finish the Week with 12-10 Thriller Win Over Webber 12-10
Babson Park, FL – #3 Reinhardt men's lacrosse had an important roadtrip to Flordia this week and scored two huge upsets over #1 Keiser and #2 Webber. After beating Keiser University just a couple days before, the momentum carried for the Eagles as they outscored #2 Webber International 12-10
Webber International came out with a lot of energy to start the game and even went up 4-0 to end the first quarter. However, the Eagles answered as they had a lights-out 2nd quarter to outscore the Warriors 8 goals to 1 including 3 goals coming from Cameron Cochran. With the halftime score of 8-5, the Eagles extended their lead in the 3rd, with back-to-back goals from Brady Hanak to lead 11-6. Finally in the 4th, Webber answered with 4 unanswered goals to close our the point differential to just 12-11. As the clock ran down, Cameron Cochran was able to score one more for Reinhardt in the last minute of the game as an insurance goal to help close out the game. The final score was 12-10 and RU celebrated as they were able to come out on top of the #1 and #2 team in the same week.
Offensively, Cameron Cochran led the way with 4 goals and 2 assists, while Benji Shackleford and Brady Hanak each added 3 goals. RU's JR Sess also had a great game, going 10-13 on face-offs and led in ground-balls with 6. Defensivley, Jason Marx caused 2 Webber turnovers and Liam Wright saved the day with 16 total saves.
The Eagles now sit with a 7-0 undefeated record overall and are 4-0 in conference play. The next game will be a home game against Montreat College on Friday, March 15th, at 5pm.
