from the NAIA:
2023 NAIA Men's Lacrosse All-Americans, Coach, and Player of the Year
May 16, 2023
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA is pleased to announce the 2023 NAIA Men's Lacrosse All-Americans as well as the Coach and Player of the Year.
Patrick Johnston of Keiser (Fla.) is the 2023 NAIA Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year. Johnston led his team to a 17-1 season that ended with the Seahawks' first invitational title.
Cameron Cochran of Reinhardt (Ga.) is the 2023 NAIA Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year. Cochran played in all 16 contests for the Eagles this year and ranks second in the nation in points (104) and assists (56). The senior posted season career-highs in goals (48), assists (56), points (104), groundballs (52), caused turnovers (13) shots (118), and shots on goal (88). He also helped lead his team to the NAIA Invitational quarterfinal round.
Joining Cochran with NAIA All-American honors is teammate Matt Potvin and Ezequel Ceant. Potvin is a senior defender for the Eagles and repeats as an All-American. He was a pivotal member of last year's defensive unit that won the NAIA National Championship and returned to lead the way defensively for the Eagles in 2023.
Ceant was a newcomer to the Eagles this season and he brought speed and power to Reinhardt's face-offs. He was the consistent leader in ground balls each week for the Eagles and an all-around good player. He can play at both ends of the field and he definitely made his impact on the 2023 team. He had a total of 166 ground balls, 24 caused turnovers, and was 245-427 on face-offs. Ceant is one to watch for the next few years for Reinhardt Men's Lacrosse.
All of the selections are made by the All-American Committee and are comprised of first and second teams. There are 13 members on each of the All-American teams.
