#1 Ranked Eagles Take Care of #8 Ranked Siena Heights
Waleska, GA - This weekend, Reinhardt Lacrosse is hosting three of the TOP 10 teams - #2 Indiana Tech, #6 Keiser University, and $8 Siena Heights. On Saturday, the Eagles faced Siena Heights where they ended up walking away with a significant victory, 13-7. On Sunday, the Eagles will be playing Indiana Tech and this will be a true test to see how the RU Lacrosse stands against the top competition.
Keiser opened up the day on Saturday playing Indiana Tech, which ended up being a thriller of a game. Keiser was able to come away with the win in the final seconds, 9-8. Indiana Tech will be fired up playing the Eagles trying to get over the last-minute defeat from the Seahawks.
In today's game, the Eagles were led by Ethan Lux scoring goals. Lux would end up with 3 goals. JR Sess and Cameron Cochran followed just behind Lux with 2 goals each.
The Eagles were able to get on the board first scoring in the first couple of minutes of the first quarter. Lux was the first to strike and it was the only goal of the first quarter. The second quarter would see five more goals scored for Reinhardt, however, they would only have a 6-4 lead at the half.
In the second half, the Eagles would turn it on and start out running Siena Heights. They were able to score seven total goals in the second half (five in the fourth quarter) against two by Siena giving the final score of 13-7.
Liam Wright would play the entire game in goal and he had 7 saves from 14 shots on goal. Ezequiel Ceant did the faceoffs for the Eagles and he went 10-23 with 5 ground balls. Matt Potvin led the way for the Eagles in ground balls with 8 total and Carter Maurice was next with 6 ground balls. Jason Marx was just behind Maurice with 5 total.
After Sunday's game with Indiana Tech, the Eagles will be facing another NAIA Top 10 team on Tuesday when the Warriors of Webber International will be visiting Ken White Stadium. This will be a good test for the Eagles and give the coaching staff of how they stack up against some of the top teams in the country before the playoffs begin.
