Men's Lacrosse Make it 2-0 on Kentucky Road Trip...
Williamsburg, KY - The Eagles finished up their Kentucky road trip today with their final game against William Penn played at The University of the Cumberlands. They were able to pick up the win fairly easily running away with the game, 18-8.
The Eagles quickly jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and they did not let off the gas through the whole first half. Amazingly, the Eagles had William Penn down 15-0 at the halftime break.
Cameron Cochran, Ethan Lux, and Brady Hanak would lead the Eagles again in scoring as Cochran & Lux would have 4 goals each and Hanak would chip in with 3 goals. J.R. Sess would get the goals started for the Eagles going off the faceoff to score twice in the first quarter. Cochran would spread his goals over the first, second, and fourth quarters and Lux would get all four of his goals in the second quarter alone. By the time Lux's second goal went in the net, the game was basically over.
William Penn would make a small comeback in the third quarter as they would pick up five goals and keep the Eagles off the scoreboard, however, the fourth would go back to the Eagles keeping pace with William Penn and adding to their lead. William Penn was able to get five in the third quarter and then three in the fourth.
Liam Wright would get the win as goalkeeper for the Eagles where he picked up 11 saves on 15 shots on goal. Brenden Pecora had time in goal as well where he would get 2 saves on 6 shots on goal.
Ezequiel Ceant was 21-29 on faceoffs and had 14 ground balls for the Eagles.
Overall, the Eagles had 31 shots on goal with 18 hitting the target. In addition, the team had 12 assists on the 18 goals - with Cochran leading the way with 3 assists.
The Eagles will return for a home game this Thursday at 5 pm vs. SCAD Savannah - which should be a good game for the Eagles.
