Eagles Place Second at Kinderlou Spring Invitational
Valdosta, GA - For the second week in a row, RU Golf has made a statement to its NAIA Competition. This time, it was at the Kinderlou Spring Invitational in Valdosta, GA, which was hosted by Dalton State University
The Men's Team finished in second position just behind Point University with a team score of +13 for their three-round total. The Kinderlou Country Club course was 7,257 yards/par 72 and there were 44 total golfers competing.
Zane May led the way, finishing in 3rd place individually, followed closely by Trey Schmidt, who was fifth overall. May was -2 for his three rounds, and Schmidt was +1 for his three rounds. May's best round was a -3 in his third round on Tuesday. This was the overall low score for the Eagles at the tournament. Schmidt finished strong as well in his third round, where he shot -1.
The remainder of the team also had great finishes, with Pride Dyer placing 18th with a +10 three-round total, Eli Howren with a +11 total, and MJ Hodge with a +13.
On the women's side, Caroline Goddard was at the top of the list for the Eagles. Goddard shot +37 over par for her three-round total. She was joined by teammates Samantha Roper, Isabelle LoBue, Elizabeth Hamilton, and Samantha Hillhouse.
It was another great showing for the Eagles as they show their consistency from week to week and work towards the goal of winning the AAC and qualifying for the NAIA Nationals!
Next up for the Eagles will be a trip to Hattiesburg, MS, for The Carey Collegiate on Mar 10th & 11th. The tournament will be held at Canebrake Country Club and hosted by William Carey University.
