RU Golf Takes on the Tough Innisbrook Course in Florida
Palm Harbor, FL - Reinhardt Men's and Women's Golf traveled to Florida for The Invite at Innisbrook hosted by Dalton State University. Dalton State Men's Golf is ranked #1 in the NAIA and the Women's team is sitting at #7.
The course proved to be a tough one as the Dalton State Men's team shot 18 over in their three rounds, and they were the eventual champions. The women's side was won by SCAD Savannah, and Dalton State placed second. There were 19 teams on the women's side and 20 teams on the men's side.
Reinhardt Men placed 17th overall with a score of 68 over par. The women shot 248 over par in their three rounds.
Caroline Goddard led the women's side, shooting 43 over par. Samantha Roper, Isabella LoBue, Alaina Harris, and Elizabeth Hamilton finished out the team for the Eagles. Hamilton was not able to finish after playing in the first round.
The men's team had a tough time on the course along with the other teams, but they managed to shoot 68 over par. Zane May led the Eagles with a total of 14 over par in the three rounds. He had one of the best rounds shooting one under par in his first round.
MJ Hodge was second on the men's side shooting 5 over par in all three rounds leaving him at 15 over par total. Trey Schmidt, Eli Howren, and Pride Dyer finished out the team for the Eagles.
The men's team will be up next at the Bojangles Fall Classic, Oct 12-13, at The Links at Kahite, Vonore, TN. This is hosted by AAC member Tennessee Wesleyan.
