Henson, Long, and Willis Named GCAA All-American Scholars
NORMAN, Okla. – 2023-24 Cobalt Golf All-America (GCAA) Scholars for NAIA have been announced. Dalton Henson, Dylan Long, and Chanc Willis of Reinhardt University were all selected as GCAA All-American Scholars from the 2023-24 golf season.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
61 NAIA athletes from 20 schools earned 2023-24 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors. Texas Wesleyan had six recipients, tied with Georgia Southern, Mercer, Texas Tech, Yale (NCAA Division I), Missouri S&T (NCAA Division II), and Trine (NCAA Division III) for the most recipients from one school across all six divisions in 2023-24
In addition, Reinhardt University Golf was selected among eight NAIA schools as one of the top GPA teams to finish the year with a combined 3.5+ GPA. As a team, the Eagles finished with a 3.510 GPA placing them among the elite in NAIA Golf.
