Fisher, Eagles Impressive in High-Scoring Game at St. Andrews

Laurinburg.NC -  As the 2025 regular season winds down for Reinhart Men's Basketball, the team seems to have gained new life, and the offensive numbers are very impressive. Reinhardt has hit the century mark in the last four out of five games going back to the start of February.  In Saturday's game on the road at St. Andrews, the Eagles outscored the Knights 121-108! They were able to drop 66 points in the first half alone. The matchup saw the Eagles enhancing their record to 12-13 overall, with a balanced 9-9 in AAC play..

The Eagles showcased an impressive team effort, with Nekhi Fisher leading the scoring with a whopping 23 points. This is a career high for the sophomore who was 9 for 10 from the field and 3 for 4 from the three-point line. He was well supported by Brasen James and Nate Jones, who contributed 20 and 17 points, respectively. James, not just a scorer, also led the team with 8 rebounds and added 3 steals, displaying his versatility on both ends of the court. Tee Williams and Zae Wiggins orchestrated the plays, dishing out 4 and 5 assists, respectively.

The game kicked off energetically with Reinhardt establishing a lead early in the first period, which echoed through the game. They wrapped up the first half ahead at 66-59, thanks to strategic plays, including a notable 3-pointer from Jones, assisted by Williams. The second period was dominated by a strong team performance, with pivotal contributions from Derrick Brown and continued scoring from Fisher, who ensured the Eagles maintained their lead, pushing it to as much as 19 points mid-way through the half. The game concluded on a high note, with Reinhardt securing a solid 13-point lead at the final buzzer.

Reinhardt's defensive efforts were also noteworthy, with strong steals by James and Charles Reisman, who together kept the Knights at bay. Additional solid performances came from Tucker Lowe and Derrick Brown, who collectively scored 30 points, coming off the bench for the Eagle. Brown also grabbed 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. In total, the Eagles had six players in double-figures: Nekhi Fisher, Nate Jones, Brasen James, Tee Williams, Tucker Lowe, and Derrick Brown.

Looking ahead, the Eagles are set to face the Truett McConnell Bears in Waleska, GA, on February 25, 2025, aiming to continue their winning momentum. At the moment, Reinhardt is sitting in ninth position in the AAC standings but could jump as high as sixth position going into the AAC Tournament.  The AAC Tournament is during the last week in February.
