Great Start to February with KCU Road Win
Grayson, KY—Reinhardt Basketball started February in the right direction with a great AAC road win at Kentucky Christian. The Eagles hit the century mark, winning 102.95 over the Knights. The two teams split the season series one game a piece, with each winning the away games.
The game kicked off with intense competition, but by halftime, Reinhardt had built a commanding lead, with the score at 55-44. Nate Jones and Tee Williams led the Eagles' scoring efforts, contributing 27 and 21 points, respectively. Reinhardt maintained a vital 14-point lead in the second half, a moment that was crucial in cementing their dominance over the Knights.
Beyond scoring, the Eagles showed depth in other areas of the game. Tee Williams not only scored 21 points but also grabbed 10 rebounds, showcasing his dual-threat on the court. Additionally, players like Zae Wiggins and Donovan Pearman contributed significantly with assists and rebounds, proving essential to the team's strategy. A key moment came when Reinhardt achieved a 14-point lead in the second half at 06:02, a lead that proved insurmountable for Kentucky Christian despite their late efforts to close the gap.
Nekhi Fisher and Brasen James helped Jones and Williams in the scoring department by getting into double figures. Fisher ended the game with 17 points, and James had 20.
Looking ahead, the Eagles will face Johnson University at home in Waleska on Wednesday night. The win against KCU sets a tone for the remaining six games for the Eagles leading into the AAC tournament. Although Reinhardt had a tough January, they can easily correct this by finishing strong as the regular season winds down.
