Eagles Struggle with #6 Freed-Hardeman in Game Two of "The Show"
Kingsport, TN - In an intense game two at "The Show", the Eagles faced a tough game against the Freed-Hardeman Lions, ending with a disappointing loss on Sunday afternoon in Tennessee The Eagles were outpaced by the #6 ranked Lions with a final scoreboard reading 68-106.
The game started off competitively, but by halftime, Freed-Hardeman had built a significant lead with a score of 46-35. Tucker Lowe hit a three-pointer just before the half that brought the Eagles into a single-digit deficit, but the Lions roared right back getting the lead to eleven going into the break. Lowe was 3 for 5 from three-point land for the Eagles, totaling 9 points. This is a season-high for Lowe.
The gap widened considerably in the second half, highlighted by a moment when Freed-Hardeman solidified their dominance by extending their lead to 38 points with just 36 seconds left in the period. Despite the tough loss, Nate Jones and Brasen James hit double-figures with 14 points each and led the team in scoring. Tee Williams reached 11 points and pulled down a team-high 9 rebounds.
Moving forward, the Eagles have a week to regroup before they face the Union Bulldogs in Kentucky on December 7, 2024. This will be crucial for Reinhardt as they look to stop a three-game losing streak and pick a good AAC road win. The game is set for 4 pm next Saturday.
