Williams & Jones Dominate in Overtime AAC Win!
Waleska, GA - The Reinhardt Eagles triumphed in an intense AAC contest against the Buffaloes of Milligan on Saturday afternoon, concluding with a thrilling 88-80 win in overtime. The Eagles' standout performers, Tee Williams and Nate Jones, powered the victory, contributing significantly to the team's dynamic offense.
Williams showcased his versatility by scoring 26 points and adding 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists, and a block to his game-topping performance. Close behind, Nate Jones poured in 24 points, complemented by 3 rebounds and a steal, ensuring the Eagles maintained their offensive momentum throughout the game. The contest reached its peak in overtime, where Reinhardt took control to seal their success.
The matchup was closely contested from the start, evident from the halftime score of 74-65 in favor of Reinhardt. Other notable contributions came from Derrick Brown and Brasen James, with Brown collecting 15 points and 8 rebounds, and James adding 10 crucial points.
The Buffaloes had a slim 35-29 halftime lead, but the Eagles turned on the jets in the second half, scoring 45 points with a look at the basket to end it in regulation. Williams had the last shot, which was a wide-open three-pointer that rattled out sending the game to extra minutes. Reinhardt dominated in the overtime period, scoring 14 points and taking the 8-point victory.
Looking ahead, the Eagles will face Bryan on Tuesday afternoon in Waleska. With a current record of 6-2 overall and an undefeated 4-0 in the league, Reinhardt is in good form to tackle the challenges ahead in their season. After Thanksgiving, the Eagles will play in the highly competitive "The Show" Tournament in Kingsport, Tennessee.
