Bohling Promoted to Associate Head Coach
Waleska, GA - As the 2024-45 college school year approaches, teams are finalizing their staff, rosters, and schedules for the upcoming seasons. Coach Justin Newton has announced that Assistant Coach Dylan Bohling has been promoted to Associate Head Coach. Bohling is going into his third season with the Eagles after having a successful playing career at NCAA Division III Huntington College in Montgomery, Alabama.
Bohling started as a graduate assistant with Reinhardt's program while getting his Master's Degree in Sports Administration and Leadership. At this time, he was responsible for coaching the reserve team and helping with the varsity squad. Last year, he was promoted to Assistant Coach and Director of Basketball Operations. This upcoming season, he will be the right-hand man for Coach Newton playing a more important role in the program.
Coach Newton added this to the coaching move, "Dylan Bohling is going in year 3 here with us. He is easily one of the hardest workers and most loyal people I know! He's contributed in so many aspects here at RU including JV Head Coach, Director of Operations, media content provider, academic lesion, fundraising, scouting reports, skill development, and much more. He's also been a great friend to me and my family and I can't think of anyone more deserving"
At Huntingdon College, he was a three-year starter and named captain during his junior and senior year seasons. Bohling was also a four-year member of the USA South Academic All-Conference team and was named to the USA South All-Sportsmanship team three out of four years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Sports Studies: Sports Management from Huntington. Before Huntingdon College, Bohling attended Etowah High School in Woodstock, GA where he played all four years at Etowah High School.
The Eagles season will begin late October with a home game with Middle Georgia College.
