Jones, Louis, and Reed Lead Eagles to Fourth Straight Win
Waleska, GA - Reinhardt Basketball had everything going in the right direction tonight running away with the game, 92-66, against the visiting Rams of Bluefield University. This is the Eagles' fourth win in a row and five out of the last six games - and most importantly - they were all AAC wins!
The Eagles got up on the Rams early and never trailed in the game after an early tie at 11 points each. Reinhardt played great defense, kept their turnovers minimum, and their hot streak of shooting continued. They were 56.5% at three-pointers and 61.5% from the field overall. When a team shoots this well, then it is almost impossible to beat them.
Reinhardt had 5 players in double-figure scoring led by Nate Jones 22 points and 19 points from Darrien Reed coming off the bench. Nate Louis had a double-double with 15 points and 10 boards. Jared Russo put in 11 points and Nekhi Fisher scored 14 points.
Point Guard Fred Adams had 7 assists to just 2 turnovers in the game and also pulled down 5 rebounds.
The Eagles will need to keep their current momentum going as they head out on the road for several games. Next up for the Eagles is a road game Wednesday night at Milligan with the women starting at 5:30 pm and the men at 7:30 pm. Over the weekend, the Eagles will visit Bluefield on Sunday and then travel to conference leader, UPike on Monday. Playing Milligan and UPike will be a real test for the Eagles who are currently playing their best basketball of the season. This is not the same team that we saw back in November and December and Reinhardt is definitely putting themselves out there as a team to watch in these final weeks of the AAC season.
