Eagles Season Comes to an End in South Florida
Miami Gardens, FL - Just one after coming off the highs of receiving the AAC Season Championship and going undefeated in conference play, the Eagles season has come to a close at the hands of the Bobcats of St. Thomas. The Bobcats took advantage of first-quarter mistakes and turned them into quick points against the Eagles. The Eagles' defense held St. Thomas to just two field goals, but the inefficiency of the offense kept Reinhardt's defense on the field. Soon the 6-0 lead became 28 at the end of two quarters. Reinhardt was not able to come back from the 28-0 deficit and ended up losing 55 to 7.
In the game, starting quarterback Taylor Jackson came out of the game after going 4 for 6 for 83 total receiving yards. Stephen Craig entered the game in the second quarter and could not get the offense moving as well against the tough frontline of the Bobcats. Craig was 9-19 in the game for 85 total yards in the air. He did have the Eagles only scoring drive on the day, which came in the third quarter. Craig found Tremain Demps in the back of the endzone on a 28-yard passing play.

Defensively, the Eagles had one of their worst days as a unit allowing 406 total yards and giving up the 55 points. One highlight defensively for the Eagles was the interception by the AAC Defensive Player of the Year, Keon McGhee who was also part of 10 tackles in the game.
Defensive Freshman of the Year, Braylon Jones, led the way for the Eagles with 12 total tackles. Jones and McGhee both were bright spots for Coach Blue's defense the entire year.

Reinhardt will have the next few months to recruit and sign new Eagles for the next fall season. The current group of returning players will spend the offseason preparing for the spring practice season and spring game coming in late April or early May. The team had a great season winning the AAC once again and knocking off teams like #4 Georgetown Tigers and the thrilling overtime game with Pikeville. The 2024 fall football season will be here before you know with a new group of Eagles that will continue their run in the AAC.
