Eagles Appoint Ivey Gangi Head Cheer Coach for 2023-24
Waleska, GA - Eagles bring on longtime Reinhardt cheerleader and 2020 graduate, Ivey Gangi, as the new head coach for Reinhardt Cheer. The head coaching spot opened up this summer when the former head coach and Reinhardt professor, Kelley Horton, was promoted to Senior Women Administrator for Reinhardt Athletics. Gangi cheered under Horton during her time on the field and court for the Eagles so she understands what it takes to cheer for the Navy and Gold. Gangi also served as the assistant coach for the past two years so her move to the head spot will be a seamless transition.
Gangi graduated from Reinhardt with a degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Sports Studies. She is currently a teacher in the Cherokee County School System.
While at Reinhardt, Gangi was a cheerleader for five years and served as team captain for two of those years.
Horton will still be helping Gangi and the cheerleading squad as she also is the spirit coordinator for Reinhardt Athletics. They have assembled a very talented and spirited group of Reinhardt students that are ready to get out on the field and show their Eagle spirit. The numbers have increased dramatically over the past two years and this team is set to get the fans excited for the upcoming football season.
The first game kicks off under the lights at Ken White Field with an opener with Faulkner University on Thursday, August 31s at 6 pm. Reinhardt won the game last year at Faulkner, which was a tight game until the fourth quarter and the Eagles ran away with the game. You can expect the same type of game for this home opener so come out and help Coach Ivey Gangi and her Eagle Cheerleaders bring a win for the start of the 2023-24 school year.
