#3 Eagles Face Off with #2 Grizzles in Lawrenceville; Series Split
Lawrenceville, Ga. - Reinhardt traveled to Georgia Gwinnett on Tuesday afternoon for another matchup of Top 10 NAIA teams. This time the Eagles were ranked #3 and the Grizzlies were coming at #2. Reinhardt won 5-2 in Waleska a few weeks ago, but this time Georgia Gwinnett's pitching was too much for the Eagles, losing the game 4-1.
Logan Lynch took the mound as Reinhardt's starting pitcher, facing a challenging Georgia Gwinnett lineup. The Grizzlies have one of the better offenses in the NAIA the season averaging a little over twelve runs a game. Lynch pitched into the third inning before giving up three runs. The Grizzlies got one run across in the bottom of the first and then another two runs in the bottom of the third after the Eagles tied the game one all in the top of the inning.
The lefthander Hunter Paulsen would be called upon next and he had the most success of the Reinhardt pitching staff. Paulsen pitched 3.2 scoreless innings and struck out three Grizzlies. He only gave up one hit in his innings. Brett Allen came in to pitch next and he recorded one strikeout. He gave up a run which happened on a miscue trying to pick off a runner at second. Despite giving up three earned runs, the Eagles did a decent job against a tough-hitting lineup.

Pitchers | IP | H | R | ER | BB | SO | HR |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Logan Lynch (L, 3-2) | 2.2 | 5 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 |

Brett Allen | 1.2 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
Totals | 8.0 | 8 | 4 | 3 | 3 | 5 | 0 |
The highlight for the Eagles came in the 3rd inning when Nash Crowell not only scored a run but also credited himself with the RBI, marking a key moment for Reinhardt. Both Barry Eiseman and Crowell turned in strong performances for the Eagles, each securing 2 hits during the game. Also notable was a double hit by Adrian Vargas.
The Eagles seem to be in a minor hitting slump at the moment and they are having trouble getting runs across the plate. This will need to change as they face their final AAC series for the 2025 season and they line themselves up for the AAC Tournament. They will start this rejuvenation this weekend with a series against the Lions of Bryan College. To remain at the top of the conference standings with Johnson University and Tennessee Wesleyan, the Eagles have must win games ahaed of them. The offense is very talented and can easily turn around the past few games where they have struggled to put runs on the board.
