Eagles Win Big in Game One in Indiana
New Albany, Ind. - Reinhardt headed out Thursday this week for a long road trip to face a three-game series with the Grenadiers of Indiana Southeastern. The Eagles brought their offense with them up north as they would put an enormous amount of runs on the scoreboard ending the game in eight innings. The final of game one of the series was a decisive 16-4 victory, bringing their record to 26-4 overall.
The Eagles showcased their offensive strength early in the game, marking the scoreboard in virtually every inning, especially highlighting their might in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings. Key players such as Robert Phelps, Nash Crowell, and Jacob Mantooth delivered outstanding plays, with Phelps and Mantooth each hitting a home run, and Crowell contributing significantly with five RBIs and a home run of his own. Mantooth's grand slam and subsequent hits proved pivotal, earning him recognition alongside Phelps, who also earned accolades for his home run, double, and a stolen base. Phelps also doubled in the game.
Starting pitcher Andrew Herbert maintained control throughout the game, laying a solid foundation for the team's explosive offensive display. The Eagles' ace pitcher brought his usual game, striking out eight batters and scattering seven hits and four runs over his complete game. Hervert is coming off a week where he was named AAC Pitcher of the Week and these numbers should have him in the running once again.
