Waleska, GA - In a matchup of two Top 10 teams in the NAIA, Reinhardt Baseball came out on top taking down the #4 ranked Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett College on Tuesday afternoon at Ken White Field. The game was tight throughout, with both teams throwing out excellent pitching. The Eagles made the most of the opportunities given winning 5-2. It was what you would expect when two top-caliber teams face each other.
Home fans were treated to an exhilarating performance as Robert Phelps led with significant contributions, including a two-run homer that fundamentally shifted the momentum in the Eagles' favor in the sixth inning. Phelps wasn't alone in his offensive output; he was joined by Cade Chamlee, Adrian Vargas, Luca Boscarino, and Jacob Mantooth, who each managed to score, pushing the team ahead. Additionally, crucial RBIs from Phelps, Mantooth, Vargas, and Juan Pablo Morales punctuated the team's scoring drive.
Vargas was 3 for 4 in the game, and Chamlee was 3 for 5. Mantooth doubled in the game.
Pitching was another highlight, with Adam Christopher delivering a standout performance. Christopher's stint included six innings, during which he struck out seven batters and limited the Grizzlies to just two hits.
