Eagles Take Two of Three from Milligan at Home
Waleska, GA - Reinhardt Baseball split on the doubleheader day versus Milligan on Saturday. The Eagles won game one 6-4 and then had a setback in the eight-inning second game, 1-4 Buffaloes. This marks the Eagles' fourth AAC loss of the season, which has their conference record set at 8-4.
Game One
Under sunny skies in Waleska, home fans saw the Eagles' offense effectively counteract the Buffaloes' challenge, thanks to standout performances from several players. Highlighted by Barry Eiseman and Nash Crowell, each launching home runs, the team pulled together for a hard-earned victory.
Reinhart had a solid four-run lead through four innings, but this would not last as the Buffaloes worked their way back into the game. The game was eventually tied in the eighth inning knotted at four runs each. The key moment came in the eighth inning when Crowell's 2-run homer broke the tie, cementing the eventual victory.
The Eagles' starting pitcher, Tate Dearing, displayed commendable skill, setting the stage for the team's success early on. Logan Lynch and Brett Allen relieved Dearing in the late innings, but the lead was lost during this time. Dearing had 3 strikeouts and only allowed 3 hits and one run. Lynch struck out four batters, but he had three runs scored against him (2 earned). After Crowell's homer, Allen sealed things up for the Eagles, which is one of his specialties.

In addition to the pivotal home runs, Louis Dion, Robert Phelps, Cade Chamlee, Adrian Vargas, and others propelled the team by scoring and driving in crucial runs. Dion and Phelps, in particular, were instrumental in capitalizing on scoring opportunities.
Game Two
In a challenging second game of a doubleheader, the Eagles struggled to get runs across the pate. Milligan went up early and had the Eagles chasing the remainder of the game, however, the runs would not come for the Eagles in this game. It has been very unusual for Reinhardt not to have multiple runs in a game this season
Jacob Mantooth was the only Eagle to cross home plate, contributing the sole run for Reinhardt. Despite efforts to drive in more runs, Cade Chamlee's RBI wasn't enough to overcome the deficit created by Milligan's strong performance early in the game. Tim Pate, Reinhardt's starting pitcher, faced a challenging outing as the Buffaloes managed to secure and maintain their lead throughout the game.
Pate was able to strikeout two batters, but he gave up 5 hits that turned into three earned runs. Ben Medley, Adam Christopher, and Brock Weiss all came into pitch the remainder of the innings starting in the third and each had relative success. Christopher had the best outing of the three as he struck out one batter and only allowed one hit and zero runs.
