Athens, TN - Reinhardt Baseball competed with the #1 ranked Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan this weekend, however, they came up short in all three games narrowly losing each one. The doubleheader of the NAIA Top 10 matchup saw the Eagles lose game one 6-4 and game two, 3-0.
In game one, Tate Dearing and Breatt Allen teamed up for 10 total strikeouts against the Bulldogs. Dearing recorded 6 total in his 5 innings, and Allen pitched three, getting 4 strikeouts. The fifth inning was the difference maker in game one as the Eagles gave up two home runs and three total runs. This was too much for the Eagles to overcome against the talented pitching staff of Tennessee Wesleyan.

Offensively, the Eages did not have much going against the tough Bulldog pitchers. Reinhardt was only able to hit the TN staff three times in the game. Two came from the bats of Luca Boscarino and Juan Pablo Morales - and Miguel Salazar recorded a single.
Although, it was not the outcome the Eagles wanted - it was a good test to see where the team stands against some of the best in the NAIA. There is plenty of baseball left for the Eagles and they should see Tennessee Wesleyan again in the AAC Tournament.
