Eagles Sweep in AAC Series Opener!
Waleska, GA - The Eagles continue to push the right buttons on the 2025 season. This time, it was Truett McConnell who was visiting Ken White Baseball Field for the weekend series, and they would go down with the 10-0 score in game three. Reinhardt's offense produced 31 runs in two days, and the pitching staff held the Bears to just one run, which happened in game one.
Several Eagles contributed to the game three win, but the key hit goes to shortstop Robert Phelps, who hit a three-run homer midway through the game to push the lead to 6-0! Phelps was one for four in the game and had 4 RBIs.
Phelps was helped by second baseman Miguel Salazar, who hit a two-run triple extending the Eagles' lead to 8-0. Jacob Mantooth continued his hot streak by doubling in the game and crossing the plate twice. Luca Boscarino also doubled in the game with an RBI and two runs scored.
Nash Crowell put the icing on the cake in the eighth inning, cranking a line drive homer over the tall fence at Ken White Field! The fans and both benches were stunned as the ball left the field quickly and drifted just over the fence. It took a few seconds for everyone in attendance to know that the game had just ended. It was another good day in Waleska!
Timothy Pate got the start for the Eagles and pitched five inings for Coach Jonathan Burton's squad. His numbers resembled the starts of Andrew Herbert and Tate Dearing from games one and two of the series. Pate struck out five Bears and only allowed one hit with zero runs scored!
Logan Lynch, Ben Medley, and Brett Allen came in for relief and each pitched an inning. Lynch and Allen both had two strikeouts each and all held onto the shutout win!
