Eagles Complete the Sweep in Weekend Series Opener
Waleska, GA - The Reinhardt Eagles complete the sweep over the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders on a sunny afternoon in Waleska with a final score of 13-5. In the three games, the Eagles racked up thirty-seven total runs and only allowed eight in return. The pitching staff and defense did their jobs and the offensive gave them plenty of support to get the task completed.
Brett Allen started as pitcher for the Eagles, contributing to a solid defensive performance against the Blue Raiders. Allen - not usually a starter - showed that he can do just about anything on the mound. He pitched five and 2/3 innings striking out five batters and had four earned runs.
In total, it took four Eagles on the mound to get the final series win and each contributed. Ben Medley came in for relief of Allen and recorded a strikeout, but was only able to pitch 2/3 innings. Brock Weiss came in next and had a successful one and 2/3 innings and did not allow a run. Brent Turley finished things up in the top of the ninth and did not allow a run. It was another great performance by the Eagles' pitching staff.
