Dayton, TN - As the season heads to its final two weeks, the Eagles need every win they can get inside the AAC so they can make sure they receive the conference title. The team has had a great season and leads the AAC with a record of 18-4 with a three-game lead on the Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan. On Friday afternoon, the Lions of Bryan got the best of the Eagles with a score of 15-5 in the seven-inning shortened game.
The Eagles struggled on the mound versus Bryan and the second inning was the back-breaker as the Eagles would give up 5 runs after a two-run spot in the first inning. Ben Medley got the start in the first game of the three-game series. Medley had trouble in the second inning and gave up 7 runs total, which ended up doing the Eagles in for the game.
Reinhardt continued to have troubles when the rest of the pitchers came into the game. Adam Christopher, Cobey Allison, and Hunter Paulsen all pitched in the loss to the Lions with Allison having the best outing in the loss. Allison just pitched one inning, but he did not give up a hit or run and recorded one strikeout. The pitching results for the game are listed below.

Totals | 6.1 | 20 | 15 | 14 | 2 | 6 | 4 |
Offensively, the Eagles could not get their typically hot bats going. They did match the Lions in the first inning scoring two runs and they picked up another two runs in the second. They added one more run in the fifth on a solo bomb by first baseman, Nash Crowell - but had zeros the rest of the way. Crowell extended his home run total to 13 which is just one behind the team leader - Dylan Lewis.
Jarrett Burney led the way for the Eagles going 2 for 3 with a run scored. Marcerio Allen was 1 for 4 in the game an RBI, a run scored, and one double. Nash Crowell ended the day 1 for 3 batting average with 2 RBIs and a run scored. The run scored was Crowell's solo home run in the fifth inning.
The Eagles will refocus and come out for tomorrow's doubleheader with the mindset of winning at all costs. They have had a great season, typically winning every conference series they play so Saturday's games are very important. The doubleheader will start at 1 pm EST and the second game around 4 pm. Starters Andrew Herbert and Alex Galvez should get the starts tomorrow if the rotation stays as it has been this season and both should give the Eagles a good shot at winning both games.
