The Launching Pad was Open at Ken White Field Versus Montreat
Waleska, GA - RU Baseball keeps on rolling through the AAC moving their overall record to 27-11 overall and 18-3 in conference play. The #11 ranked Eagles have one of the best seasons going in the program's history and every game is important as the end of the regular season comes around. They have three more AAC weekend series with Bryan, Bluefield, and CIU, and they have three midweek singles with out-of-conference opponents Point University, Middle Georgia, and Cumberland (TN). The Eagles are sitting in a good position to finish out the schedule as the top team in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
Reinhardt played Montreat University on Monday this week which was considered a nonconference game. The Eagles took care of business early scoring 4 runs in the first inning and kept adding to that lead throughout the seven-inning shortened game. Reinhardt run-ruled the Cavaliers 17-7 to get the win!
Adam Christopher got the start for the Eagles and had a good two innings of work striking out one batter and holding the Cavaliers to zero runs while he was in. He picked up the win for his efforts. Christopher was the first of five total pitchers for the Eagles in the game. Christopher and Ryan Mahoney had the best outings for the Eagles with both holding Montreat scoreless. Mahoney continues to impress - this time sitting down the last three batters after giving up a base hit from the first batter he faced.
The pitchers between starter Christopher and Mahoney were Eli Clotfelter, Brock Weiss, and Hunter Paulsen. Each of them did give up runs, but all had decent innings for the Eagles. Clotfelter ended up leading the Eagles with 3 strikeouts in the game followed by Brock Weiss who had 2 strikeouts.
