Eagles Complete The Sweep of TN Wesleyan with an 11-4 Win on Sunday
Waleska, GA - The Eagles kept their hot bats going in game three of the Tennessee Wesleyan series on Sunday winning 11 to 4 over the currently ranked #6 Bulldogs. Reinhardt brings their AAC record to 8-1 which leads the way so far in conference play.
The story of this game was Alex Galvez on the mound to start the game for the Eagles. Galvez pitched a gem of a game going seven innings and allowing only three hits and zero runs. He had 5 total strikeouts in the seven innings. He was hit with a low liner that was rocketed at his ankle in the fifth inning, but he toughed it out and kept on producing for the Eagles. It was a brilliant performance by Galvez and kept a talented Bulldog lineup off the board.
Ben Medley came in for the final two innings of the game and had a roller coaster ride. He had a rocky start in the top of the eighth where he gave up 4 runs and lost the shutout, however, he settled down and pitched great the rest of the way. His ninth inning was great as he shut down 3 of the 4 batters he faced. He had a strikeout in his two innings.

Offensively, Reinhardt's bats got going early with a two-run bottom of the first, but Tennessee Wesleyan had a good six innings following this where the Eagles could not get any runs either. The first six innings had a fast pace to them as both pitchers were sitting down batters with minimal pitches, but the Eagles were able to get to the Bulldogs bullpen and the floodgates opened up. In the bottom of the seventh, the Eagles were able to put six more runs on the board. Those runs came from two doubles and a three-run homer.
Lance Dockery and Marcerio Allen both doubled in the inning to score 3 runs and then Dylan Lewis, who has been on fire this season, hit a bomb to left field scoring three more runs for six total in the inning. This was the big inning for the Eagles and put the Bulldog's chances out of reach. Reinhardt added three more runs in the bottom of the eighth to add more cushion to the lead. Jacob Profit and Dylan Lewis both doubled in the inning scoring the three additional runs.
Leiws finished the day 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Nash Crowell was 3 for 4 with one RBI. Marcerio Allen had one of his best games so far as an Eagle going 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored.
The Eagles will be back on the field at Ken White on Monday and Tuesday this week with a single game with St. Francis (Il) and Brewton Parker on Tuesday.
