Eagles Lose Close Game on the Road at Brewton Parker
Mt/ Vernon, GA - Reinhardt was coming off of a 2-1 weekend against conference opponent Truett McConnell and they were looking to extend the win streak to three games, but the Baron of Brewton-Parker College put a temporary halt to that. Reinhardt came up just short losing 6-5.
The Eagles jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning and they held this lead until the bottom of the bottom of the second inning. The Baron put up 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd giving them the early 3-1 lead, however, the Eagles would match this by scoring 3 runs of their own in the sixth inning. Despite not hitting the ball particularly well in this game, Reinhardt stayed right with Brewton Parker the entire game. They just could not get the lead runs in during the game.
Ben Medley got the start in this midweek, non-conference game and he recorded 2 strikeouts over his three innings of work. He allowed 6 hits and 3 runs in his innings of work. Medley had two solid games in the previous series with Truett McConnel, but he had a tough inning where he gave up three runs. He was relieved by Hal Stelljes who came in the next inning and recorded one strikeout and only allowed two hits, but he gave up one run each inning putting Brewton Parker up by three going into the sixth inning.
Eli Clotfelter entered the game next where he only gave up one hit and did not allow a run in the game. He was the only pitcher in the game that did not give up a run in the game. He pitched 1.1 innings before being pulled for Brett Allen who struck out 3 batters and only allowed two hits and one run in his two innings.

Offensively, the Eagles did not have their best game at the plate, however, they scrapped enough together to get a win. Dylan Lewis was 1 for 4 in the game with 2 runs scored. Lewis along with Marcerio Allen had doubles in the game and that was the only multi-base performance in the game. Jacob Profit was 1 for 1 scoring a run and keeping the Eagles in the game. Profit came in for Parker Doyle in the final inning where he singled and was sent home on a double by Lewis.
Besides the runs scored by Lewis and Profit, the other two runs were scored by Nash Crowell and Adrian Vargas. Crowell was 1 for 4 and Vargas was 1 for 3.
Reinhardt will be back home on Friday and Saturday this week with a matchup with St. Andrews (AAC). There will be a single game on Friday at 3 pm and then the doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon.
