Bio

Evans Nichols is in his second season as head men’s and women’s coach with Reinhardt Golf, his ninth year overall with the school, after he was a player on the men’s team for five seasons, a graduate assistant for one year, and assistant coach for one year.

During Nichols' first year leading the women’s golf program, the team made a lot of progress. In the last two years, Nichols has entered his women’s team into more 54-hole tournaments than ever before. From their schedule, the team has been gaining invaluable tournament experience. Many individuals have broken 36- and 54-hole tournament records and many others made significant progress with their game as well. All the individual accomplishments have ultimately been leading to team records which is what Nichols’ focus has been. The women’s team finished 4^th at the 2021-22 AAC Conference Championship. After all the work the team put into the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, it is clear Nichols’ program is heading in the right direction. 

Nichols graduated from Marietta High School and enrolled at Reinhardt in the fall of 2013. As a player, he competed under head coach Dan Mullins (2016 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Coach of the Year) and director Ken Dixon (2010 AAC Coach of the Year) from 2013-18, where he played in 39 tournaments and was a part of 12 team championships; two of which Nichols was the individual champion.

Continuing his career as an amateur, Nichols strides to compete in local club invitationals, GSGA, and Georgia PGA events like the Georgia Amateur Championship and the Georgia Open.  

Nichols graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Administration and received his Master’s from Reinhardt in Business Administration.

Coach Nichols lives in Marietta with his wife, Leah.
